We are excited to announce the launch of our new EASA Part-66 Differences course. This new self-study bundle has been designed to bridge the knowledge requirements between UKCAA and EASA for Part-66 CAT B1 and B2 licences.

Why have we introduced this bundle?

Following the EASA regulation changes in June 2024, all EASA modules (with the exception of Modules 1 and 17) require students to study additional sub-modules/content compared to the UKCAA syllabus. These additional sub-modules/content often cover a range of technical knowledge, operational procedures, and compliance standards that align with EASA’s approach to aviation safety and regulations.

The differences in requirements now mean that Part 147 organisations are no longer able to dual certify students who pass a single exam. If individuals wish to receive both UKCAA and EASA Part-66 licences, they will need to pass both UKCAA and EASA full examinations.

Before the launch of this course, if you wished to study towards your UKCAA and EASA Part 66 licences with Resource Group, you were required to purchase full sets of both UKCAA and EASA training material. However, our new EASA Differences bundle includes only the additional content required by EASA, meaning you can work towards your EASA licence at a reduced cost.

The EASA Differences course will need to be purchased in conjunction with one of our UKCAA Part-66 training products, whether instructor-led or self-study. If you have already passed a UKCAA Part-66 module(s) with Resource Group, then you will not need to repurchase the UKCAA training alongside the EASA Differences course.

Benefits:

  • A more cost-effective way to achieve your EASA licence alongside your UKCAA licence – there’s no need to purchase the full EASA B1 or B2 bundle.
  • You can study in your own time, at your own pace – reducing the need to take long periods away from work.
  • Interactive scenarios and engaging video content are designed to maximise your understanding of course concepts and aid knowledge retention, regardless of your preferred learning style.
  • End of module knowledge checks with detailed reports to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Timed mock assessments to simulate the Part 66 examination experience.
  • Accessible exam locations.

FAQs

Is the course for those who have purchased Resource Group’s UKCAA Part-66 CAT B licence material?

Yes, the product needs to be purchased in addition to an existing CAT B UKCAA Instructor-led or Self-Study product.

Will I need access to a UKCAA module or still have good knowledge of UKCAA requirements when taking an EASA exam?

You will need to either have access to a UKCAA product of ours or have passed the UKCAA exam with Resource Group in the past. If you no longer have access to our UKCAA training material and didn’t pass your UKCAA exam, you will be required to repurchase the UKCAA material alongside the EASA differences course. This will also be applicable if you’ve sat a UKCAA exam with another provider.

Can I sit an EASA and UKCAA exam on the same day?

Yes, UKCAA and EASA Part-66 modular examinations can be sat on the same day at selected locations, as we’ve introduced AM and PM exam sessions at many of our UK sites.

Can I sit an EASA differences exam?

No, a differences examination is currently not possible. EASA requires individuals to take the full EASA Part-66 examination.

How many modules will I have to sit?

You will still be required to sit the full suite of EASA Part-66 modular examinations; however, the benefit of our EASA Differences course is that it only contains the additional content required by EASA, enabling individuals to study towards their EASA licence at a reduced cost.
