Apprenticeship Delivery Level 3
Apprenticeships
Level 3 CAT A Aircraft Mechanic
Our fully approved 2-year level 3 Apprenticeship programme consists of 10 months Foundation Competence Training (65% practical and 35% theory). Throughout this time, we will ensure all apprentices are work-ready and can actively contribute to the workforce. This is followed by 14 months of Development Competence Training at your organisation’s Part 145 environment, where apprentices will continue to be assessed on site by our in-house Apprentice Assessors.
Subject to available facilities, the theoretical and potentially the workshop elements of the programme can be delivered at your training site, supplemented by a live aircraft systems and handling phase at either our Kemble or Humberside Airport facilities. Alternatively, we can deliver the full programme at one of our training sites.

Workshop Practical Delivery Stage
The emphasis of our programme is on delivering capable individuals who have been equipped with a high level of hand skills training. Apprentices will carry out a 7-week workshop phase where they will plan and conduct a series of workshop tasks, including sheet metal fabrication, riveting and patch repairs. This entire phase is carefully planned so that it is fully representative of the typical tasks individuals will be conducting throughout their career in an aviation maintenance environment.
Aircraft Systems and Engines Practical Delivery Stage
Apprentices will then take part in a 6-week live aircraft systems and handling phase at our Kemble or Humberside International Airport facilities. During this phase, the apprentices will be responsible for carrying out indicative tasks such as aircraft jacking, wheel and brake changes, and component removal and installation.
The output of this programme is a UKCAA or EASA Part 66 A Aircraft Mechanic, who can work as an excellent industry all-rounder in a regulated engineering Part-145 environment.
