Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS)

Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS)

Resource Group is an ELCAS-accredited training provider (ID: 1472) helping service leavers and veterans convert military engineering experience into recognised civil aviation qualifications in the UK and Ireland.

Military aircraft engineering experience can typically be recognised towards the UK CAA Part-66 licence, helping service leavers reduce the time required to achieve recognised civil aviation qualifications.

Eligibility for ELCAS can help fund training costs, making it easier for service leavers to transition into civil aviation careers and gain aircraft engineering qualifications.

Military Experience to Civil Aviation Qualifications

Military engineers already possess many of the technical skills and safety-focused competencies required in commercial aviation. Depending on your military experience, you may be eligible for recognition towards Part-66 training requirements and access to ELCAS funding support.

How to Get a UK CAA Aircraft Engineer Licence

To become a licenced aircraft engineer in UK civil aviation, candidates typically follow the UK CAA Part-66 licence pathway, which includes:

  • Completing Part-66 modular training and examinations covering aircraft maintenance theory and engineering principles
  • Gaining practical, hands-on aircraft maintenance experience under approved supervision
  • Maintaining an official logbook recording tasks completed and competencies achieved

These steps form the core requirements for obtaining an aircraft maintenance licence in the UK and progressing into roles within commercial aviation maintenance and engineering.

Resource Group's Part-66 Self-Study ELCAS Bundles

All ELCAS students enrol on a complete UK CAA CAT B Part 66 Self-Study aircraft maintenance engineering course bundle, which includes:

  • 24 months’ access to all Part 66 course materials
  • UK CAA-aligned training content
  • One attempt at each module examination
  • Access to approved examination centres across the UK and Ireland
