Level 2 Unlicensed Mechanic
Phase One (first 3 months) – introduces apprentices to the fundamentals of aircraft maintenance alongside practical, hands-on training. During the first three months, apprentices build core knowledge of health and safety, airworthiness regulations, maintenance documentation, and the correct use of aircraft maintenance tools before developing practical maintenance skills in workshop and hangar environments.
Phase Two (Remaining 15 Months) – delivered within your organisation’s Part 145 environment, apprentices develop their competence by carrying out supervised aircraft maintenance activities and building a structured portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their skills and knowledge.

Theoretical Training
Apprentices complete a structured programme of foundational theoretical training that prepares them to work in a Part-145 approved aircraft maintenance organisation.
The curriculum covers:

- Technical data and maintenance documentation
- The correct use of tools and equipment
- Aircraft movement and flight operations
- Flightline maintenance
- Inspection principles
Alongside technical knowledge, apprentices develop essential teamwork and communication skills, enabling them to understand and apply the regulatory, safety, and operational procedures required to perform aircraft maintenance safely, effectively, and in compliance with Part-145 requirements.
Workshop & Hangar Practical Training
Across the seven-week workshop and hangar phase, apprentices undertake structured practical training in a simulated Part-145 aircraft maintenance environment. This hands-on training enables them to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the foundation phase while developing the practical skills required for aircraft maintenance.
Practical aircraft maintenance training includes:
