Resource Group – Over The Last Year

Resource Group – Over The Last Year

The end of 2022 is fast approaching, and what a year we have had here at Resource Group. We may still be fighting through the impact that Covid-19 has had on the aviation industry, although we do believe it is slowly reaching the operating levels that it used to be.

We would like to take this opportunity to share our achievements and highlights that we have celebrated over the year.

So, without further ado, let’s begin…

New websites

In January 2022, we kickstarted the year by launching our brand-new websites which involved a standalone, dedicated Training Solutions website.

Our goal was to provide our clients and customers with an easier way to learn about our services and solutions. The new website structure is creative and interactive, providing better access to all our business streams.

Partnership with Ryanair

We announced our new contract with Ryanair to create and deliver a fully bespoke and managed training solution. This included developing a defined route for individuals, enabling them to become CAT B licenced engineers over a 4-year period; all funded through the UK apprenticeship levy.

We created a tailored solution which has been built in close collaboration with Ryanair, and a partnership we will continue to build upon to train the next generation of Aircraft Certifying Maintenance Engineers.

Client forum

In March, we welcomed our clients back to our site in Kemble. This was our first face-to-face interaction since Covid-19 and we enjoyed seeing everyone again. Throughout the day, we presented our end-to-end process showing how we can help businesses find and train the next generation of students to become Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentices.

The day received positive feedback with clients describing it as “a really informative day and such a good opportunity to learn more about Resource Group.”

Hybrid learning

When the pandemic hit, we adapted our training delivery to enable students to continue with their studies remotely. The success of our remote training and positive feedback from students meant that, on 1st April 2022, we introduced our hybrid delivery capability. This enabled students to attend our Part-66 courses either face-to-face or via Zoom, allowing them to select the best learning style to suit their needs. This flexibility allowed remote learners to save on the cost of travel and accommodation.

Attended EBACE

In May, we attended the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Switzerland. A well-recognised event for our VIP aviation clients and a place where circa 13,000 professionals come together to share their aviation knowledge and experience. It was a great opportunity for us to meet old and new clients, and discover innovative developments in the industry.

Introduction of multi-currencies

We expanded our payment options to enable customers to choose their preferred currency when booking courses. We introduced the ability to pay in US Dollars, Euros and GBP, to make it convenient for global customers.

Launched our new site at Luton Airport

In October, we officially launched our new regional hub for aviation maintenance apprentice training at London Luton airport.

We had a fantastic day and were excited to be joined by many including; Alberto Martin (CEO of London Luton Airport), Hazel Simmons (Leader of Luton Borough Council), Justin Richardson (CEO of the Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce), and Ollie Jaycock (Director of Corporate Affairs at London Luton Airport), as well as BBC Look East and Heart Radio.

We also had clients and apprentices on site from TUI, Harrods Aviation Limited, DHL and easyJet.

Zoom delivery for Part-66 courses

The success of our remote learning offering was clear. Although students had the opportunity to attend Part-66 courses in person, an overwhelming majority were still opting for Zoom delivery. Therefore, when we released our new 2023 Part 66 course dates in October, we decided to deliver all courses via Zoom only. This helps students and businesses save on travel costs and accommodation whilst the aviation industry is still in recovery mode, and allows students to study at a location that suits them.

Attended MRO Europe event

In October, we attended MRO Europe – the largest event of its kind in Europe where airlines, MROs, OEMs, lessors, suppliers and industry experts, come together to discuss the aviation maintenance industry.

EASA and UK CAA Part 66 Distance Learning Product

Throughout the year, we have been developing a market leading Part 66 distance learning project which we will launch in 2023. This project has been created by industry experts and educational specialists to enhance the learner experience, whilst offering a cost effective, flexible and high-quality solution for those wishing to self-study.

Blue Beret Ceremony for REME

We held a Blue Beret Ceremony for our first cohort of military apprentices working for REME.

They successfully passed their Military Civil Aviation training and level 2 Foundation Competence in aviation. Next year, they will move up a grade to Class 3 Aircraft Technician, which enables them to work on live aircraft and be eligible for promotion to Lance Corporal. They will be posted to 7 Aviation Support Battalion at Wattisham Airfield, maintaining the Army’s Apache Attack Helicopter, and carry out their level 3 Development Phase. This will give them the authority to become a supervisor.

Awarded Armed Forces Covenant and Bronze Award

Our Training Solutions business, LRTT Ltd, signed the Armed Forces Covenant, formalising our commitment to supporting those who serve, and have served, for the Armed Forces.

Due to our extensive history of employing service leavers and our track record in delivering a range of training solutions into the Armed Forces, we were awarded the Bronze Award – Employer Recognition Scheme.

As the year comes to a close, we would like to thank all our clients and customers who continue to support us in everything we do. We are looking forward to 2023 and revealing more of our exciting plans and achievements.
