Resource-Group-Highlights

And just like that, it is late December. Everyone is getting ready for the Christmas break and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

During this time, it’s easy to focus on future plans and forget about the highlights throughout the last year.

Here we look back and remember Resource Group’s best moments of 2023.

Continuous Website Improvements

  • In the first few weeks of 2023, we launched our new Part 66 Instructor-Led webpage to improve the course booking process. Feedback from customers has been positive and we are pleased that the new format provides customers with an easy, hassle-free booking experience.
  • We launched our new FAQs page to make it easier for customers and clients to find information about our products and services.

New Client – Panasonic Avionics

We were delighted to announce Panasonic Avionics as a new apprenticeship client. This new relationship aligns with Panasonic’s ambition to grow their UK aviation maintenance workforce in what is an extremely competitive market. Throughout 2023, we have been delivering our Level 3 UK CAA and EASA Part 66 CAT A apprenticeship programme to six Panasonic Avionics apprentices at our Cotswold Airport facility.

easyJet Apprenticeship Open Evenings

In February, we supported easyJet with their Engineering Apprenticeship Open Evenings at London Luton and Gatwick Airports. It was a great atmosphere with so many enthusiastic and motivated individuals looking to start their careers in aircraft maintenance.

Updated eLearning Courses

As part of our commitment to providing top-notch education, we meticulously updated our eLearning courses to ensure that the technical content covered not only meets but exceeds legislative requirements. The transformation extends beyond mere updates; we integrated the latest design and educational techniques to ensure that our courses are not just informative but also engaging, making it easier for the learner to absorb content.

Our revamped courses include Human Factors Initial and Refresher, Fuel Tank Safety – Phase 2 and Refresher, and EWIS Groups 1 & 2.

EBACE

In May, we attended the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Switzerland. It is a well-recognised event for our VIP aviation clients and a place where circa 13,000 professionals come together to share their aviation knowledge and experience. We enjoyed meeting old and new clients and discovering innovative developments in the industry.

British Airways Global Learning Academy Graduation Ceremony

Members of our Apprentice Centre Team attended British Airways Global Learning Academy Graduation Ceremony in London. It was a wonderful occasion to celebrate the success of the British Airways apprentices and wider teams that work incredibly hard to make these programmes happen.

Part 66 Self-Study Product Launch

After much preparation, we were proud to launch our brand-new Part 66 Self-Study courses in September. These courses enable individuals to study towards their Part 66 licence in their own time, reducing the need to take long periods away from work. The project involved a £2.5m investment to create interactive digital courseware for A1, A3, B1.1, B1.3 and B2 licences.

With input from industry experts and educational specialists to enhance learner experience, the new courseware includes 3D graphics, interactive scenarios and engaging video content, specifically designed to maximise learners’ understanding of the course concepts regardless of their preferred learning style.

The courseware includes end-of-module knowledge checks with detailed reports to help learners identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as timed mock assessments to simulate the Part 66 examination experience.

One Year Since our Luton Site Opened

It has been over a year since we opened our training facility in Luton, and during this time we have welcomed many new faces, including:

  • Our very first cohort of apprentices from easyJet, DHL, TUI and Harrods Aviation.
  • Royal Air Force of Oman – to deliver a 35-day Aircraft Structural Hand Skills course.
  • A second cohort of apprentices from TUI and DHL.

Attended BAE Systems’ Graduation Ceremony

On 19th October, we attended BAE Systems’ graduation ceremony. Our Managing Director, Ian Fitzpatrick, attended as a guest of honour along with several BAE Systems dignitaries, including Sir Stuart Atha.

The day was a great success and Tony Lally, Head of the Aircraft Maintenance Academy, gave Resource Group high praise for our work in the delivery of the BAE Systems apprenticeship programme which takes place at the Aircraft Maintenance Academy, Humberside Airport, and several RAF bases in the UK.

PR

We are thrilled to have been able to contribute to fantastic Aviation publications this year.

Expansion of Cotswold Airport Workshop Facilities

To meet the growing demand for aircraft maintenance training in the UK, we invested £65,000 to convert an existing avionics workshop at our Cotswold Airport facility, into a third mechanical workshop. This means we can facilitate a higher number of apprentices and practical skills courses in 2024 and beyond.

As we round off another great year full of highlights, we would like to thank all our clients and customers who continue to support us. We cannot wait to see what 2024 has in store.
